Olivia is a native of Arizona where she grew up on Luke Air Force Base. Her father retired after 23 years of service as a MSGT in 1998. Olivia grew up in a sports crazy family who pressured her to tryout for basketball. After trying out for volleyball just for fun in middle school, she fell in love with the game and never looked back. She is a volleyball alumni of Agua Fria High School in Avondale, AZ & Phoenix College in Phoenix, AZ. She also played for the Arizona Saguaros where she competed with her team in the 2009 National Championship. Olivia has played volleyball for over 10 years with experience as an Outside Hitter, Middle Blocker and Setter. Olivia also currently plays for a women’s league. She has coached for 6 years for the Arizona Starlings and the Arizona Saguaros for ages 14-18. As a coach Olivia enjoys to watch her team grow both on and off the court and strives to keep the competitive fire burning in her team. She has extreme enthusiasm for her teams and believes in the philosophy of, “whether you think you can or you can’t - you’re right”.
On her free time, Olivia loves to spend time with her family. She has a nephew, who plays volleyball and fraternal twin nieces, who were born on Halloween who she hopes to coach one day. She is a die hard Arizona Cardinals fan, as well as a LeBron James fan. She loves to cook & plan parties & events. Olivia is new to Nexus and is excited to be a part of the Nexus family. Fun fact: Olivia was a Girl Scout from age 5 to 18 years old! & she’s still best friends with the same girls. |
